They have a very distinctive tropical look to them that gives them visual appeal in the landscape, but even better is that they produce the largest fruit native to North America and they are delicious too! With a flavor that is described as a mix between banana and mango they are great for eating fresh or using in other recipes where you would use banana. And unless someone else is growing them locally you won't normally see this fruit for sale in a grocery store.
