Space Required: 2-3 ft spread, mature plants can be 3-6 ft tall.

Evening primrose is a biennial native wildflower. It spends its first year as a low growing rosette of leaves, collecting energy and storing it in its roots. Then, in the second year it produces a flower stalk (you would receive a plant that is in or has gone through its first year). The flowers are a little odd in that they bloom at dusk and close again at sunrise. They are pollinated by moths and other night flying insects. Evening primrose is also the larvae host for a few moth species including the primrose moth and the white lined sphinx.
