New England Aster is a native wildflower in that is an important to native pollinators late in the season. Blooming from late summer to fall these flowers are normally visited heavily by wasps, bees, butterflies, you name it! New England Aster is also one of the host plants for the Gorgone Checkerspot butterfly. The seeds are also a food source for songbirds during the winter months. In its native region this plant requires little to no upkeep.
