Virgin's bower is herbaceous perennial vine that produces an abundance of fragrant flowers from July through August. The flowers are loved by many native pollinators. The vines grow quickly and and scramble over other trees and brush. When grown in the landscape they look great on a decorative trellis or arbor where they will create a tunnel of foliage that will eventually create a bountiful display of white blooms. Virgin's bower is also the host plant of the clematis clearwing moth, alcathoe caudata.
